About Us
Wear the Wild is a women-owned, family-run educational apparel brand where we blend clever nature puns with original, hand-crafted designs to create t-shirts the whole family will love. Founded in the spring of 2025 by two Texas nature lovers, we started with one simple idea: combine Avery's knack for connecting unexpected ideas with Clarissa's artistic eye to make shirts that spark curiosity and smiles.
Each design begins with an authentic, human-made concept — no AI, just our own creativity inspired by the great outdoors. We focus on fun, playful, and earthy designs that help people share their love for nature, whether it's through Texas-themed prints or universal nature humor.
Our dream is to grow into an eco-friendly brand with locally sourced shirts, expand into school and nature education spaces, and see our products in museums, libraries, and beyond. Most of all, we want our customers to feel excited to wear their shirts, start conversations, and connect with others who share their passion for the wild.
Meet the team
Avery
Hi, I'm Avery — a lifelong nature nerd with a passion for playful learning! I grew up with dirt under my nails and wonder in my eyes — camping, climbing trees, and collecting rocks (which turned into a geology & horticulture degree, naturally). After college, I spent two years backpacking through New Zealand, Australia, and Europe, living out of a tent, exploring wild places, and soaking in the magic of the natural world. For four years, I taught outdoor survival and environmental education at nature schools, guiding kids ages 3–12 to connect with the earth through curiosity and joy. Now I'm a full-time proud mama of 2 kids, passing on the spirit of exploration to my own little wild ones. These shirts are a blend of my love for science, silliness, and nature-designed to spark curiosity and bring a smile to nature lovers of all ages. From babies to grandmas, there's a nerdy nature pun for everyone.

Clarissa
Hi, I'm Clarissa — a multimedia artist with a passion for bringing visions to life! Growing up I was always a crafty kid involved in various performing arts, including dance and playing the clarinet. My introduction to the visual art world came from the purchase of my first camera, and the rest is history! My career has blossomed into multifaceted marketing roles, both freelance and in-house, as a designer and digital media specialist. I've always had a knack for the outdoors and traveling, especially because nature is the perfect canvas for photography and art, as well as a much needed escape from working in the digital world. The yang to my digital life is my expression as a mixed media artist, where I incorporate the beauty of Mother Nature into my paintings and photography projects. Fast forward to the seed planted by Avery and myself, where we are excited to combine creativity, nature, education, and nerdy humor to bring joy and wonder to our fellow nature lovers of all ages.
